Join us at Victoria Primary!
We are always delighted to welcome new families into the Victoria Community. Children may enter the school at any year level depending on the availability of places.
If you want to apply for a place, the application process depends on the year group you are applying for. Before you apply, we recommend that you find your catchment area, we recommend you apply to one of your catchment schools in the first instance.
How to apply for a place in our Primary groups?
If you would like your child to join a primary group, please call the school office on 0131 476 7306 to find out if we have a space.
You can then come for a tour of our school and to fill out the relevant paperwork.
How to apply for a place in Primary 1, set to start in August 2023?
Applications for children starting P1 in August 2023 need to be completed through the council’s website. For more information about the council’s placement policy, please click on the link below.
Early Learning and Childcare Admission
If we are your first choice, please call our office and agree on when you can drop off your documents at the nursery to apply. You need to bring the following:
- application form (PDF).
- child’s birth certificate – or, if informed by the nursery, their passport.
- proof of your address, such as a Council Tax letter or utility bill.
When completing the form, you must give a second and third choice. This can be a Council or partner-provider nursery or a childminder. For more information, please visit the Edinburgh council website.
After you have applied
You will receive a letter with the decision as soon as possible. Please allow extra time to account for school holidays.
If we don’t grant your request your child will go on a waiting list. We prioritise waiting lists based on when we received your request. You must contact other schools to find a place.
