The fundamental aim of Active Schools is to give school-aged children the tools, motivation and opportunities to be more active throughout their school years and into adulthood. These opportunities are available during and after school, as well as in the wider community.
Active Schools Extra Curricular Programme
Active Schools have been working with local sport clubs to help them provide extra-curricular clubs in the learning community.
Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis and classes have limited spaces. To avoid disappointment please book as soon as possible when booking opens.

New Autism & Neurodivergent Football sessions
These sessions are currently fully funded, so there is no cost to take part.
Two football coaches will lead each session using a visual timetable, with small group numbers (maximum of 10 participants). While coaches will support the whole group, they are not able to provide dedicated 1:1 support. Parents and carers are welcome to stay during the session or make use of the community room within the school.

October Holiday ASN Swim Sessions
Specifically designed for pupils with an Additional Support Need across City of Edinburgh mainstream and special schools. Please find the attached booklet outlining session times and locations.
Bookings will open on Friday 11 September at 9am. The link will not be active until this time.
The attached booklet also outlines the age groups and ability groupings for each session. Our coaches and support staff aim to create a supportive environment where your child can learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy taking part in sport and physical activity. When booking, please select the ability level that best matches your child where possible.
We expect these sessions to fill quickly. A waiting list will be created for anyone unable to secure a space.

This is a ASN specific opportunity for up to 10 pupils per school with a physical disability, learning difficulty, learning disability, or autism to get involved in a sports festival!
